JTF-SD members ‘Embrace the Ruck’

Lance Thibault, senior enlisted leader for the National Space Defense Center; U.S. Army Lt. Col. Claude Lambert, future operations division chief for the JTF-SD; U.S. Space Force Lt. Col. Christopher Higgins, current plans branch chief for the JTF-SD; U.S. Space Force Tech. Sgt. Cameron Skinner, crew chief for the NSDC, U.S. Marine Corps Sgt. Maj. (Ret.) Dennis Bradley, command group executive assistant for the JTF-SD, participate in an ‘Embrace the Ruck’ event at Schriever Space Force Base, Colorado, Aug. 5, 2022. The event consisted of a 12-mile ruck march around the perimeter of the installation and all participants wore packs weighing a minimum of 30 pounds. Additionally, participants were encouraged to fill their packs with non-perishable food items that could be donated to local food banks. The JTF-SD collectively contributed over 120 pounds of food. — The Joint Task Force-Space Defense hosts fellows from the National Defense University’s CAPSTONE course at Schriever Space Force Base, Colorado, July 21, 2022. The CAPSTONE course objective is to make new general and flag officers more effective in planning and employing U.S. forces in joint and combined operations. Fellows visited the JTF-SD to gain a better understanding of how the organization executes its protect and defend mission through its operations center, the National Space Defense Center, space domain awareness units and emerging space defense units. Nathan Glandon, incoming commander of the 18th Space Defense Squadron Detachment 1, during an award presentation at Schriever Space Force Base, Colorado, July 14, 2022. Glandon was awarded the DMSM for his outstanding service as mission director for the National Space Defense Center, June 1, 2020, to June 30, 2022. Glandon led the NSDC’s response to the November 2021 Russian anti-satellite destructive test that caused over 1,500 pieces of space debris. Joint Staff Approves SPACE FLAG as its First Accredited Space Exercise

— The Space Training and Readiness Command was recently notified that the Joint Staff affirmed the Joint National Training Capability (JNTC) Accreditation of the U.S. Space Force SPACE FLAG exercise at the 392d Combat Training Squadron, Space Delta 1, Schriever Space Force Base, Colorado.
